[Floor Thirteen]

Margulis hadn't been a particularly religious man, not since he'd been betrayed by his faith fifteen years ago. But nonetheless, he'd found his way to the cathedral. The silence was disconcerting, but at the same time, exactly what he needed. A chance to think, without loud interruptions to tear him away from his thoughts.
The setting, however, tore at him, and as he stood at the front of the room, he couldn't help but reflect on one recent event. On Pellegri's death. On his failure to convince her of the truth on Miltia, and on his inability to save her from her own resentment on Michtam. Lost in thought as he was, he didn't even think to keep an eye on the door.
[Floor Three]

After his visit to the cathedral, Margulis was in sore need of a distraction. On his own, he couldn't keep his mind off of recent events in his own world. It wasn't late enough for the monsters to be out in force, so the library would have to be that distraction. And it served its purpose.
His teacher had had an impressive collection of paper books, as had the Kukais, but he had never seen anything like this. He hadn't even thought there were this many physical books in readable condition left in the galaxy. It was nothing short of amazing, and one could easily catch him browsing the many bookshelves or sitting with one of his finds.
[Obligatory nighttime option]

Even after his trip to the library, Margulis was still on edge. Between Pellegri's death and this claim that his universe was destroyed, he was about as far from happy as he could be. But nighttime brought monsters to fight, a way to blow off steam. His blade sliced through most enemies with ease, leaving a fiery trail in its wake as he moved with speed and agility his solid frame wouldn't suggest. Those that he couldn't dispatch with blade alone, he handled with blasts of fire and lightning.
But even he could get in over his head, and there was no guarantee that he'd have a clear shot to safety when he began to tire...

NIGHTTIME!
His katana sang in the air as he cut through one creature and used no ethers. Not yet. He tired much less after he had died and had grown stronger. So it was the ethers that Margulis used that drew his attention, so familiar.]
*Cues the battle music.*
Uzuki?
.... Guess what just started playing on my iTunes... Not even kidding...
Colonel.
[His tone isn't icy but he's not pleased to see the other man here. Especially considering who was responsible for his death.]
Fatal Fight? Seriously? XD
What do you think you're doing in that outfit? That's a sick joke after Pellegri's death.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaah XD
I am wearing it because it's mine to wear. And I find it more comfortable to fight in than my old Federation uniform.
Welp XD
Fate intervenes with these two
[There had been a brief moment when Jin had encountered Margulis there but he'd merely been sent as a distraction. How did he know it had been Jin?]
The last time I set foot there was to recover Mary's body. And even then, my part had been minimal.
Obviously.

[That's a lie but he wasn't Jin when he was there. And he'd made sure that no one knew he'd defended Shion's group from his attack.]
I haven't been anywhere near Miltia in years.
[Okay so, he was busted when it came to the ES. He could deal. By not making a comment.]

*He raises his sword to point at Jin as he poses his question, but makes no move to do anything more than threaten.*
no subject
[His own grip on his sword tightens, just in case.]

*He gives no more warning before he dashes forward, blade enveloping itself in flame as he slashes it at Jin's midsection.*

As I said, Colonel, I'm not lying.
[Lookit that smug smile on his face now.]
no subject
You- But how?
no subject
[He sheathes his sword and walks over to him then and offers his hand to help him up.]
no subject
That's impossible. You barely even acknowledged that Realian's existence beyond your surprise that I had allowed them to accompany me so far.
no subject
Accompany you? I assisted Canaan and chaos that day.
[How could- Oh. He understands now.]
I see. You're from a different Recurrence. Events haven't proceeded the same for you as they have for me.
no subject
As if this place wasn't wearing on my nerves enough.
*Wait a sec...*
But if you were aiding those two, then you aren't aligned with U-TIC.
no subject
No, I'm not. And I'm going to assume from everything you've said already that you aren't either.
no subject
No, I turned from U-TIC and Ormus fifteen years ago, when I discovered evidence that we were being manipulated.
no subject
That's a change I never would have expected from you. I never would have been able to convince you to leave them.

There are some things that must be seen for one's self, before it's too late to make a difference.
