OPTION B: OUTSIDE THE CHURCH

[Later on, Videl passes the church and meets some very rude drones.]

Oh, hey, look – it’s devil girl! I wonder if she’ll curse us…

Cut it out.

[She’s being totally serious, her hands on her hips.]

I’m so sorry, daughter of Satan. [And the drone girls will laugh at her. What do, passerby?]

OPTION C: HIGH SCHOOL

[During lunch, Videl will sit on her own, not having spotted a familiar face yet. She’s a bit pissed off right now, though. Though anyone in the area might hear her speak aloud.]

Great. First I’m sent to this weird town in this weird world without any decent clothes or guys to battle – and now I’m made fun of?

What’s next, I can’t fly?

[And she actually jumps off of her seat and jumps off to attempt flying and well… lands on the ground.

That’s not a good sign.]

[A familiar face she's looking for? A FAMILIAR FACE SHE'LL GET! Son Gohan will enter the lunch room, look around, and then get a surprised look on his face.]

V-Videl? Is that you?

[Videl totally recognizes that voice at once. How could she forget? After all, she had heard it quite recently. As she turns her head to face Gohan, she blinks twice before wiping her face.

This isn’t some sort of weird dream is it?]

… Gohan?

[The young Saiyan runs over to his friend and puts his hands on her shoulders, should she allow it.]

Videl, its so good to see you here! You won't believe what happened.

[He doesn't give her a hug yet. After all, the Videl he remembered...was a little more standoffish.]

Huh, when did you cut your hair?

Well, I just got here, so I’m completely clueless.

[Though she’s been in very weird situations so it doesn’t bother her too much. And the fact that she knows Gohan was the one who beat Cell? Well.]

And a while back!

[Wait a minute, that’s weird. She gives the saiyan a weird stare as if he were crazy. … Is he?]

Don’t you remember, Gohan?

Yeah, that's about what happened for me, too! Woke up one morning in a strange bed. Lots of weird stuff have been happening, too!

[Gohan looks really surprised.]

A while back? Huh, must have been after I got here. Last time I saw you, we stopped those criminals from getting away, remember? That's when you figured out...well, you know.

[A blush and a scratch of his head.]

I'm sorry, I wish I did, Videl. This place does...weird things with time, from what I've seen.

Weird stuff? Like what, exactly?

[Videl frowns, placing her hands on her hips. She doesn’t look pleased about that. But at the second statement, she gives a small sigh, smiling softly at the guy.]

Oh, I get it. So… you don’t know the things I know yet. Like I know you were the one who actually beat Cell six years ago.

[She notes the whole timey-wimey thing in her head, though.]

I...don't want to talk about it. Lets just say that this town does...horrible things when it gets the desire. Mainly to us. I've been lucky this far, but...

[Some of his friends haven't, sadly. He looks haunted at that.

Of course the comment about how he defeated Cell makes him flail around a bit.]

W-What are you talking about? Who told you that I did it? It was your...oh, wait. Let me guess...you figured it out like you figured out my secret identity?

[He looks dejected at that...what kind of hero is that easy to see through?]

Okay, okay. I won’t ask about it. Even if I am curious.

[It’s not like she wants to invade private space. Unless it’s necessary.]

[She gives him a thumbs up, smiling slightly.]

Plus, you confirmed it, so it’s obviously true. You can’t lie to me, after all! Don't worry, though, I won't tell anyone.

[His face is a bit hard.]

You'll see soon enough.

[That was a glimpse of the boy who defeated Cell all those years ago, but it quickly falls back into the friendly smile that he's known for.]

But I don't want to talk about that! I'm just really happy to see you here, Videl. It's nice to have someone from home around.

[When she mentioned that he confirmed the Cell thing, he looks slightly dejected, but quickly turns it around.]

Well, I guess that every super hero needs a confidant, right?

...I'd tell you that you can't fly, but I think you figured that out already.

...

You alright down there?

Um-It's pretty normal. I mean, to be without your powers and all. Here.

[And he'll offer her a hand up.]

[Hearing someone screaming was not how Garrus liked to begin his day. The Turian bursts into Videls room, still wearing his ill fitting human pajamas, ready to fight whatever may be in here.]

What the hell is going on in here?

[The words "You'll see soon enough" does not comfort her in the least. Actually, it does exactly the opposite.]

Well, it's always good to have someone I know here!

[...Maybe. Hopefully she's not wrong. Please tell her that she isn't wrong about thinking that way.]

So, how long have you been here, anyway?

Yeah, I'm fine.

[She dusts off her dress and manages to stand right back up.]

It's not like I jumped off a building or anything, anyway.

[And Videl will take that hand, giving a small smile.]

Thanks. But... flying wasn't exactly some sort of super power.

[Oh, crap. Someone heard? Wait, she doesn't know who this guy was either. She'll stand up and go on the defensive.]

Who are you? Where am I? Are you the one who brought me here?

Exactly, and don't worry about anything, I'll be sure to introduce you to some of my friends here. Most people are really friendly, though there are a few that you really do have to watch out for.

[The smile is the same that he's always had, Videl, so this place hasn't changed him. If anything, it's made him more focused on being a good man.]

I've been here a couple of months. Don't worry about your flying...I think you'll be able to get it back quick. I wasn't able to do a lot of my normal things when I arrived here, after all.

[There's a pause, then Lina speaks again.]

So what's with the people calling you 'devil girl'? [There's not any malice in the way Lina asks - simple curiosity.]

Beats me.

[Videl shrugs, giving a melodramatic sigh.]

It would be nice if I knew, though.

... "A few"? Who, exactly?

[She's speaking seriously, because the fact that there may be some dangerous people is kind of disturbing.]

Wait. What do you mean by "getting it back"? You're not explaining things too well, Gohan.

Woah, hey, let's lets clam down a bit. I didn't bring you here. You were definitely not here when I went to sleep last night. If I didn't know how this insane town worked, I'd be demanding you to tell me how you got here.

Oh, Dizzy, Rikku, Rin, Barton, and a couple others, like my new dad, Doctor Doofenschmirtz.

[He's smiling a little bit at that.]

Well, when I first got here, I didn't even have my strength. I'm lucky that it seemed to come back quickly.

[Tsubaki sees her hit the ground and rushes over.]

Are you okay?

It's something inside of you right? Part of your soul, chi, your energy?

[And he tries to help her up. Gerk. A little bit of effort from the tiny man.]

Doctor? And wait a second. By "new dad" you mean those... uh, phony families we're placed in, right?

[She's asking this very quizzically.]

Quickly... how quickly?

[ Hylian ears picked up many things, and Videl's unyielding woman voice, contrast to sweet little Zelda, was nothing that could be ignored. Young Link abruptly raised from his bed ]

Yeah! I found that things go a lot nicer if you're happy and in a good group of people. I call him dad for right now. Easier than saying his name, anyway.

[Gohan's still all smiles.]

Well, I got my st...wait, how much have I told you, by your reckoning?

[snake lights up a cigar smokes for a bit and throws it at one of the girls heads and then proceed's to hide under a pew, he puts on a menacing sounding voice]
