No. It wasn't selfish. Just...stupid. If you had told me sooner, I wouldn't have dawdled with all those other Servants. Sure, I enjoy fun fights, and once you get past the uptightness, Saber and Rider are pretty likeable guys, but if you just told me, I would've killed them as fast as possible.
