1) *So, you're walking around the Foundry district? Well, you might catch sight of a twelve year old boy running the mechanics through their paces on a two story mecha.*

2) *Someone went and told him about the library. Now he's running around like a kid in a candy store, grabbing books off of just about every shelf in the immediate vicinity and building up a huge pile of them. Try not to trip over it...how does he plan to carry all of them, anyway?*



3) *Ahhh, the battlefield. No matter what he says, he'll always feel somewhat at home here. That's why he doesn't seem worried at all as he dashes from place to place, alternating incredibly flashy dual wielding gun techniques and firing off fireballs or laser beams.*

[KOS-MOS draws her Magdalene 17 and fires it towards a seemingly unoccupied area and listening to a grunt of pain coming from the area.]

Scans indicate several hidden units in this area.

Dammit-

*He activates Analyze and sure enough, the Ether picks up multiple targets that he couldn't see with his bare eyes.*

Sneaky little bastards, aren't they? Alright then, try this on for size.

*He slips his left gun up his sleeve and reaches into a pocket for a handful of coins. With a quick flick of his wrist, he simultaneously tosses them into the air and slides the gun back into his hand so he can fire off a flurry of bullets at the coins. The bullets bounce off of their targets, scattering so that one or two heads for every enemy he spotted.*

[It was still somewhat impressive to Mary's consciousness that he could do that. KOS-MOS was used to seeing it though and sent her handgun back to where she had stored her weaponry, bringing out both of her triple-barreled chainguns to take care of the remaining units.]

I believe we have successfully cleared this area of the battlefield.

*Another Analyze just to be sure and he nods.*

Alright, c'mon then. There are probably other areas that need our help, too.

[KOS-MOS nodded and scanned the area, heading to the area they would be most needed. Her guns were excellent for drawing their attention, very hard to miss with the rapid-action fire of two guns that were the size of Jr. Maybe a bit bigger, even.]

*While Jr. was easy to overlook and underestimate. They really were a good pair for this sort of situation, except for one thing: Jr. hated being overlooked and underestimated. While KOS-MOS held the enemies' attention, Jr. leaped off the ground, using KOS-MOS' shoulder as a springboard to jump into the air. At the height of his jump, he stopped in midair and seven illusory white angel wings spread out behind him, complete with falling feathers.*

Take this, Angelic Requiem!

*With the arrogant declaration, he rained down his own hail of bullets from above, leaving ground cover utterly useless.*

[He was much better a strategist than she gave him credit for. Something she knew but hadn't relied on heavily. KOS-MOS herself preferred to use less flashy abilities right now and relied on her weaponry, anything at her disposal.

And Miyuki had provided more than enough equipment fr her over the past few years.

She was keeping on eye on Junior, scans focused everywhere just in case.]

*Once he was sure he'd hit everyone he could from this angle, he dropped back to the ground and slid his right gun up his sleeve. With a horizontal slash of his arm, he sent a flurry of beams shooting out over the enemy side of the battlefield.*

[Between the two of them, they were making good work of this battle. KOS-MOS could only wonder how effective they would be if everyone was here, from home. There would definitely be a drastic improvement of their situation. Because all of Xenosaga is a Godmode.

Encountering a particularly large and sturdy looking enemy, KOS-MOS had little choice but to use her VALKYRIE ability. Oh the irony.]

*Not that they're doing too badly on their own. Even as Jr. asks his question, he delivers a leaping roundhouse kick to an enemy that was 'lucky' enough to get close to him. There's a loud cracking noise as the Dragonfly kick connects with the enemy's head and he doesn't get back up.*

The current situation is well in control, Jr.

[She almost felt bad for the people they were fighting. Almost. This was war and she had chosen to help Midgard. Just as she protected her friends and especially Shion.]

*Wait, are they supposed to feel bad for them? Jr. just thinks they're stupid for getting so far over their heads. Not that it matters much, since he wouldn't slow down either way.*

Alright. At this rate, we'll be back in time for a nap before dinner.

*Why yes, he did just turn so he could shoot someone behind his back.*

[Okay, it was mostly Mary that felt for them. Everyone was fighting for something and they all had ways of justifying it. Everybody wanted a better way of life, whether for themselves or others around them.

KOS-MOS had other concerns. Like protecting Midgard and, in extension, the universe she had come from.]

That is correct. I estimate that approximately forty-five percent of the enemy army has either been killed or forced out of combat already.

Let's see if we can send the rest running, huh? Erde Kaiser Sigma!

*It takes a lot of energy, but that's nothing he wasn't expecting. The giant robot's sword appears first, towering over the stunned enemies before sending out a massive shockwave that would have wiped out Jr. and KOS-MOS as well if the Ether didn't include protection for those considered allies. Erde Kaiser Sigma itself appears shortly after and swings the sword out over the battlefield, for a more directed but no less powerful shockwave, before disappearing. All this leaves Jr. breathing heavily, but still standing.*

[Nobody that was smart or had a single shred of self-preservation would remain after an attack from Erde Kaiser Sigma. KOS-MOS barely had to fire more than five shots from the arm cannon to take care of remaining units before the rest fled. They would likely report the battle to their superiors and mention both Junior and herself.

Even with time to plan a strategic counterattack, there was little they could do unless they had units that could actually challenge either of them.]

*He holstered his guns with a flourish and a grin.*

Come back in ten years and maybe you'll make me sweat.

[KOS-MOS's arm changed back, hands clenching into a fist before relaxing so that she could ensure there was no damage possible despite not being struck.]

I believe that it is now safe for us to leave the battlefield.

And here I had a whole day cleared for this. Oh well, I gues that just means I'll have time to visit the library.
