[OOC: Trying to decide between apping Vimes or Angua. Help me decide here. These are both AUs that I'm making up as I go along.]

-Vimes, Action-

Something went wrong. Your house was robbed, you were mugged, your friend was taken hostage in a diner, your house got set fire to. Whatever the reason, the police have arrived to help. Lieutenant Vimes steps out of his car and pulls a cigarette from his pocket as he surveys the situation. "Someone get me up to speed here."

Dare you trust the police? They're supposed to be working for the bad guys, but by reputation Lieutenant Vimes is straight as an arrow.

-Vimes, Network-

The boss man said not to touch ThunderCorp since they hadn't committed any crimes.

Bullshit. There's always a crime. It might not look like one, but it's in there somewhere. I just need to peck away at them until I can figure out what it is.

Unfortunately the police can't go near them right now. So I need to delegate. That's where all of YOU come in.

-Angua, Action-

Ahhhh, nothing like an early morning jog through the park. When you were passing a large mass of pushes, though, you heard someone whisper "PSST!"

She's hidden enough that you can't see clearly but it looks like Angua is crouching naked behind a bush and looking very upset and confused. "Can I borrow your jacket?"

Now that you think about it, wasn't last night a full moon?

I did a thorough search of the area where it happened. Judging by the smells, I'd say our guy was a man in his fourties, maybe around six feet, and overweight. He had been eating at Subways that day, and was probably wearing a green jacket.

It was some what amusing to watch the police work. Despite having his house invaded and items gone missing, Takegami was rather calm about, leaning as he was against the tree in his yard and watching the city's finest go about their mysterious rituals in the pursuit of criminals. At the appearance of this new police officer, he checked a slight sigh.

"I believe they are trying to figure out if the thing in my living room is a dead person or last week's road kill."

I wonder if your talent gets overwhelming, but now we know who this man is - we should be able to track him, correct?

Yes yes I know. "What's she doing naked in a bush? She must be some kind of weirdo!"

Now that we have that out of the way can I please borrow your jacket!?

It can get a bit overpowering sometimes, yes.

[Especially around blood.]

I should be able to hunt him down, though. No trouble.

Mm. There was one car, but now there are four and you. I don't suppose you're with Homicide, are you?

"That's right."

Vimes took a long drag on his cigarette, then dropped it and stomped it out. "You'd better show me the stiff."

He raises an eyebrow at the command but then smiles slowly, before pushing off the tree and leading the way. He was more than amused since he was the only citizen on the scene, but maybe this detective is a little different than most he has met. Past the first gaggle of cops into the house, where another group as taking pictures of a smashed in window and blood smears. Then into the sparsely furnished living room, where something sort of human - if the grayish dried skin and thin boney limbs could be considered human - laid.

"The stiff," he said, looking at him from the corner of his eyes, gauging his reaction.

Vimes' eyebrows raised when he saw the body. There was no way that had been a living person any time recently. Without raising his eyes from the scene, he asked "Why don't you describe what happened last night?"

So. He was seeing what was there too unlike the rest who see just a skinny, burn-out. Takegami shrugged.

"I was sitting here, listening to my radio when she came through the window, threw a potted plant at me -" he waved a hand at the broken plant "- and then fell over."

He took out his notebook and started writing things down. "Did you recognize...'her?'"

.... Whoa. How'd you get all that from the smell?

When you've got a better sense of smell than the average blood hound, you can learn a lot from someone's scent. Subways uses a distinctive brand of sanitizer, men smell different from women, tall people smell different from short people, fat people smell different from skinny people, and green dye smells different from red dye.

[ And you may have just accidentally caused Emi to try to sniff someone for the next few days to see if she can pull it off. Oops. }

Uh... how are you that sensitive though?
