[There are enemies you face. Sentient but not necessarily human enemies. The fight won't be easy but you think you can make it. And good - there's something you must protect, a location or a MacGuffin, you can't afford to lose it.]
[So when they demand surrender, Philia answers them back. And the one-eyed woman has a different idea.]
We accept your conditions. I repeat, we surrender.
[Wait! She is the negotiator but she has no right to decide that on her own!]
[2]
I have no respect for them.
[The talk you had with Philia changed into the topic of military and soldiers. Maybe you're a soldier yourself.]
Humans have a natural aversion to killing others. Did you know? Military training is about removing that aversion.
Soldiers aren't defenders of anything; or heroes. They're tools for the government to kill others. I have no respect for them.
[3]
[Do you try to socialize or have fun together? Sorry, you get rebuffed.]
S-sorry.
I'm not good at things like these, so let's just forget about it and, maybe...
[The usually composed and unbearably self-righteous negotiator is now fidgeting uneasily.]
[4]
[You want something from Philia and were informed she's in her room. But as you enter, the door is unlocked and the room is empty. It's not just its occupant that is absent. Other than few books and bare necessities, the room is stark and devoid of personal touch.]
What, what are you doing in my room?
[And there she is, right behind you. Having just taken a shower all she wears is a towel. This attire shows just how heavily scarred her body is. She doesn't seem to care, considering it just as normal as her missing eye.]
1
[And then she declares they would surrender.]
What the hell are you doing? [He's trying to stay calm, really, he is, but they were after the Fon Master, who was key to the peace talks they were trying to escort them to, and these people very much did not want that to happen.]

It's better to talk and try to reach compromise.

These people DON'T want this mission to succeed, Philia. If you make us surrender, then the mission is already ruined. Any negotiations that don't involve "Giving up the Fon Master" will break down, and giving up the Fon Master means he never reaches the summit.

[Philia is going to walk towards the enemy group and do just that.]

[These people were part of the radical faction within the Order of Lorelei. Hey may not know what it was they wanted, but considering that he had to rescue Ion from them before, it could mean nothing but trouble.]
Philia-! [Luke held himself back.] ... Good luck. [He didn't know what she thought she could do, but it was better to see her in action before he could judge her as ineffectual...]

2)
I mean I don't have a lot of respect for soldiers either!
[... Not sure if being Sarcastic or actually being SRS.]
Re: 2)
[Philia had a very mocking tone.]
So yes. Not a lot of people get it.

But aren't you a pilot yourself?
no subject
[Well... That's a strange thing to say with a smile.]
But that's alright, because I'm going to help fix everything!

You're right! You're totally right! Finally someone understand that! Being a soldier is literally the worst! Low pay, high risk, bad food, no holidays...

Why not quit? You obviously hate it.

There is always something else you can do. I can look into that if you want me to.

This is a private room so vacate it. At least let me put something on before you come back.

[Jen's tiny robot crouches down, its constructors gathering in each palm and setting to work, ripping up some nearby patches of road and forming balls of molten...stuff.]
These people killed my client, and they're more than willing to kill me. We have to fight.
[On the other side, there's 10 or so black Aegis security robots. They're small at just breaking five meters, but in this kind of cramped city that's not a problem-and the nanotechnology used to construct them means they're a lot tougher than most things their size class.]
no subject
[That complicates things.]
What kind of data is on this drive that they want it so much?

[Yeah, this is kind of a touchy subject for Meredith.]

He stares for a bit, the letter he was delivering in his outstretched hand, speechless.]
