[After a long, desperate battle! Over the course of the grueling fight, Suma was apparently injured quite seriously, but was still laughing all the way to the infirmary, from which she is posting now.]

What a glorious battle! What ruthless foes! What fearless comrades! What a time to be alive!

Never in a thousand years have I enjoyed such a brilliant fight. Hundred to one odds, and yet never did we falter. Takes me back to the old days, when battles were fought with blood and blade. Nearly as good as Thermopylae, tonight was. Perhaps this was how those unyielding Spartans felt as they charged to their deaths!

If you're planning to do this again, I hope you wait until I've had a chance to recover, for I'd hate to be giving anything less than my best for it.

[Night owl prompt! Suma's off in some less-often traveled corner of the ship/base, in the dead of night. Somewhere where you can see the stars.]

[She's sitting cross-legged on the floor, and in front of her appears to be a single lit candle. Her eyes are closed and she's speaks softly and slowly, as if reciting some sort of old ritual.]

Ankhesenamun.
Seth-Peribsen.
Mukarramma.
Aquila.
Diocletianus.

[She half-opens her good eye.]

I do know someone's listening. You're not interrupting much.

Okay... so. Here I go.

Haaa!

[A straight jab to the chest! Izuru has average strength and speed for a 16 year old, but pretty much no actual brawling experience whatsoever.

The results can't be too impressive.]

[Suma doesn't so much as take a step back at the impact.]

There's your first problem already. You're not weak, exactly, but if you're going to punch someone, you have to be ready to put your heart into it.

Come on, pretend I'm the person you hate the most. You should be able to knock me off my feet.

Eh? But I don't really hate anyone...

Okay, focus on the person you love the most, and imagine that I killed them.

Hmm, that's hard. I don't think I can...

[Hey, remember that part where Izuru said he doesn't hate anyone?]

[He lied. And something just woke up in him and delivered a furious - and startingly accurate punch right to your jaw.]

[Suma is caught mostly off guard by the change, and is thrown to the ground in one hit. She picks her self up, rubbing her jaw and looking pleased.]

That's better. That's much better.

Do you think you can do it again?

[herodrawing]

Sure.

[Izuru follows with a one-two punch - first a straigt jab, then an uppercut! But one thing is becoming increasingly obvious. His technique didn't improve any - he just acts faster. And with less restraint.]

That didn't really hurt you, did it.

[Suma actually blocks these ones! She's satisfied enough with his guts to turn this into a proper spar.]

I felt it. Why don't we leave it at that?

[Time to try out your defense! Suma feints to the face, and then the actual attack comes a split second later, a powerful straight to Izuru's chest.]

[Izuru ducks to dodge the feint - he sees the main attack coming, but not quickly enough to fully avoid it! Instead, he tries to block it with crossed arms.]
