We're on a highway to the danger zone

[1-Gloval]

[In honor of the creation of Macross City's first TV station after it got teleported to space, there's a beauty pagent-the Miss Macross contest! And if you're a lovely lady, or very pretty man, you too can enter! What could your act be?]

[2-combat]

[Well it's happening again: The Macross is in a pitched battle alongside you against an excessive number of bad guys! Are you a dutiful soldier? A rebellious hothead? Someone who keeps making fun of how Misa looks like a grandma? Whichever is the case, and no matter who you're up against, there's missiles everywhere.]

[3-Bunnies]

[Some other time, who can be found wandering the city but Glova's Har-er, I mean the bridge operators for the ship.]

Hmm...We've been to the disco a lot, we should find something else to do...

Well, there's that Zwei Wing concert soon. That should be fun.

Oh! What kind of dresses do you think they'll wear this time?

[Even off-duty, they seem inseparable.]

To show my appreciation for Earth's culture and the hope for cooperation between our civilizations, I decided to perform a fragment of Der Ring der Nibelungen in my people's native language. I shall play the role of Brunhilde.

[Apparently opera about Norse mythology is performed in Egyptian clothes now? Eh, close enough!]
abugslife: (not impressed with your shit)

[Hetepheres glances aside at a technician (who happens to be a 1 meter long scarab), who turns on the music. She waits a few seconds for the right moment i deep focus, then spreads her hands and starts to sing.

And there it begins. It's not that she doesn't put any passion into her performance - quite the opposite, in fact. But there is a reason Brunhilde's part was written for a soprano: because when a low-voiced bug alien starts to loudly call out in a weird language that souds suspiciously like someone added actual vowels and consonants to insect clicking, it sounds terrifying as balls. It's like a call to war from an angry goddess.

Considering that she's playing a valkyrie, perhaps it's appropriate.]
abugslife: (hey you can see her horns for once)

No. As far as I know, this kind of lyrical performance is unique to Earth.

This is precisely the reason why I chose it.
abugslife: (s-stupid!)

[Earthling culture must be in decline on this ship if they don't appreciate classic opera anymore!]
