Do you ever find it strange how quickly and unquestioningly UG accepts new members into their ranks?

Fight time, against something big. Like, really big. Big enough to make ordinary mechs (like the Gervasius) look small. Something that mocks skyscrapers.
When Gjerke looks up at it, there are stars in her eyes.
"Have you ever looked at something and immediately thought, 'I'm gonna climb that'? Because that's me right now. I'm gonna climb it, then I'm gonna punch it right in the face, while standing on top of it. Everybody out of the way."

Don't be silly. That sort of plan is completely idiotic. It's probably covered in point defences to prevent people from doing just that.
Besides, I'm going to climb it first.

[A line shoots out from the shoulder of Jen's mecha, stabbing into the enemy robot.]
I have grappling hooks.
[The line pulls taut, and Cethlenn zips up, up, and away~]

[Gervasius glows, and turns into a bolt of lightning, instantly leaping across space to... a spot a bit below Cethlenn.]
Gah!
Given the situation, I might have aimed for its head.
Look, why don't YOU try aiming this thing?!

[As the point-defence danmaku starts up, Cethlenn keeps on supaidamanning its way up the robot. Little thrusters help it jink to the side out of the way of attacks, while it's four separate grapple guns do the work of lifting in.]

[That being said, Gervasius is making pretty good progress on closing the gap. Sliding along the surface of the colossal machine in a cloud of sparks, the point defense seems to be giving them less trouble than aiming that signature skill.]
