1. [Action around Town]

[There's a small mammal that has trundled out into the middle of Mayfield today, wandering around with its eyes looking in either direction. It waited for the traffic to cease before waddling across the road towards the park. Perry needed some time to think, and at least there wasn't anything like a local dog catcher to chase after him.]

Krrrrrrrt.

2. [Regain Time]

[Its regain time in dear old Mayfield, and Perry has received a gift! Well he had his locket and his fedora, what else did he need? Opening the box while secluded in his dog house, Perry flicked the top open and looked in on it.

[Oh yes, the theme music. He should have realized this would be regained too.]

3. [Action Sequence!]

[Maybe it was dumb luck or something, but you had just witnessed Perry stand up and punch out whatever was threatening you. Or maybe he punched you because you were an evil villain. Either way, he puts on the hat.]

Augh!

[And the mad scientist goes sprawling on the ground. A few moments later, he sits up, holding his nose... and finds himself confronting a platypus wearing a hat?]

What in the...? I don't believe this! Another mammal...

[And cue theme tune]

A mammal with his own theme music?!

[In return, Perry strikes a platyjitsu pose, ready to deliver more pain. Leave his family alone, even if his family currently consisted of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz!]

Oh, so you want to fight, huh? Fine, then! Egg Pawns, get him!

[He'll do whatever he wants, platypus! Charging around Eggman are a few of Eggman's Egg Pawns, the squat yet rotund robots ready to get the drop on the mammal!]

[Yeah Perry's having none of that. He leaps up, delivering a vicious roundhouse kick at the first Egg Pawn, backflipping into the crowd so that he lands atop one of them! Come get some.]

Don't just stand there! Get 'em!

[the other robots recover from the sudden action and attempt to rush Perry, not caring that they'll trample over their companion.]

[That's just what Perry wanted, vaulting over the mad rush before kicking the last one in the melee towards the others to cause a pile up.]

[And Eggman winces as the Egg Pawns collapses in a heap.]

AUGH! I don't believe this! Beaten by a... a... PLATYPUS!

PERRY!

[And with that, Perry tips his hat at Eggman.]

I... I HATE THAT PLATYPUS!

And who keeps singing?! [New goals in life: defeat Perry, discover who's singing in this place!]

[And he zooms off on his jetpack.]

[His housemate, Gohan was walking past the doghouse. He stops a bit as he hears the chords of the theme song play.]

Perry? Is everything OK?

[He stops for a second.]

What am I talking about, he's a platypus...

[SHUTTING THE BOX NOW. And the hat is off and--!]

Krrrrrrt.

[Gohan leans over and looks at the dog house, then reaches in to pick up the Platypus.]

Its OK, Perry. Did something scare you?

Krrrrrrrt.

[Perry is just going to let Gohan pet him. He was an attentive owner, and it was rather nice to be honest to be fussed over after the week he had.]

Awwww. Its OK, Perry. Whatever it was that scared you can't be too bad. After all, it was probably just one of Dad's Inators.

[He frowns a little bit while petting his semiaquatic friend.]

I wonder if I'm going to have to try and stop him again...I don't know, that hat guy has been doing pretty well with that on his own.

[God Gohan was as oblivious as Doof was. Still, it was a mixed blessing that they couldn't distinguish Agent P from Perry.]

Krrrrrt.

I mean, who would suspect that Doof's own son is his second greatest nemesis, The Great Saiyaman?

[Yeah there was nothing to say to that really. Except make his noise again.]

If only that secret agent nemesis of his and I could team up, then we could, you know...keep Dad from accidentally hurting himself, or others. He's...not very good at this evil overlord stuff.

[They could probably take turns, but to be honest, leading such a double-triple life at this point was hard enough without getting one of Doof's "adopted" kids involved. No matter how silly that costume was.]

Ah well.

[He continues petting the Platypus.]

Thanks for just listening to me, Perry. I know that platypi don't do much, but you're still a great pet.

Krrrrrrt.

[Yeah Perry's going to relax after that. There's nothing more that could be said or would be said anyhow.]

[Up comes a slightly flour-dusted Doofenshmirtz, waiting at the same intersection for the traffic to die down. It was lunch time. He wanted to go eat in the park, too.]

...hey!

What are you doing here?

[It is said with no malice, of course. For this is just the platypus that has started living at his house! And he is, for better or worse, a bit protective of the people in his house.

And platypuses, too. Or is it platypi? Platypeople?]

Krrrrrrt.

[Must not bite, must not bite. Just give him a split-eyed stare of animalness.]

Really, you silly platypus, you're going to get hit by a car one of these days.

[He sighs and shakes his head and otherwise continues to ignore the obvious. But he also notes that the traffic has slowed! So he starts across the intersection!]

Come on, we can go, now! Try to keep up!

[Ignoring the obvious is good, and thanks Doof, you just gave him an opening to trundle behind you at a good pace. It's obvious he was a trained housepet before, the way he understands English.]

[Doof is infinitely thankful that the platypus came trained. He had no intention of devoting his time to picking up stray platypus droppings, for instance.]

Are you looking for lunch? Is... is that it? Barton's been feeding you, right? Gohan has been changing your water?

[He reaches the other side of the road, and just keeps up the stroll to the park. This is all taking up valuable lunchtime...]

Ugh, I should ditch work for the day, and get back to work on my Wilt-Inator....

Krrrrrt.

[That was neither a yes or a no, Doof. Perry had simply come out here to think in the guise of a dumb animal. But hey, the more he interfered with Doof's attempt at making Inators, the better. Besides, lunch was that dry dog food they had; no one in town carried Platymeal. Which sucked.]

...Where is that music coming from?

[Perry is capable of crazy levels of acrobatics. In Doof's own words, "He can do wildly improbable judo throws" so to speak. Perry lands a ways away from Klaus, sizing up the other mad scientist.]
