Possible OC for later in SRWU
1
[Group of civilians is in trouble. They're threatened or taken hostage by some jerks. One of them is muttering to himself:]
I need to get out. I need to get out of here, and fast.
So tell me, what...
[He steps forward. A scruffy looking man, he spreads his arms wide to protect others with his own body.]

What the hell am I doing!?
2
Not yet, not yet...
[It's supposed to be a fight but things are not fine. Bad guys have taken hostages again. Or an ally is taken captive, weapons pointing at their unit and ready to blast if they do as much as breathe.]
Now I face out, I hold out, I reach out to the... NOW!
[Suddenly, an opening! Maybe the enemies were going to shoot but the attack goes off the mark because something blitzes through the battlefield like greased lightning. A winged humanoid monster of blue metal, it's only 6 meters tall but it tackles the much larger mobile suit (or MS-equivalent) out of the way!]

Hey! Are you okay?!
[And it talks, too!]

[Danny tried something risky and very dangerous, even for a battle. Possibly related to prompt 2. Anyway, he succeeded - but the result? He's in a hospital bed now.]
That was reckless? I guess. I lived my whole life never hurrying anywhere.
Maybe it's time to change that.

[You walk around minding your business. Suddenly, music from one of the rooms as you pass by! Not just any music too, but the most cheesy, bouncy bubblegum j-pop. It's loud, too. Investigate?]

Y... yeah? What's up?
I'm kinda busy.
[The music is instantly muted the second you start opening the door. In the room, there is no one but Danny Grey, sat down with a book.]
This thing won't read itself.

I know you like to challenge yourself with upside-down reading but this is a serious problem that I need your help with.
[This is all said with a completely serious face.]
no subject
[Adjust the book quickly and pretend nothing is going on, Danny. Obviously he does a bad job t it.]
Yeah. Challenge. Of course.
I didn't know you even had something like a Zwei Wing CD.
no subject
I mean I think their songs are a bit more catchy than what you were listening to.
no subject
Sorry. I didn't see your disc anywhere, I'll tell you if I find it.
no subject
Then what was the music I heard before coming in here?
no subject
[Then why you look so sheepish, Danny-boy?]
You're not interested in it anyway, since it's not Zwei Wing.
no subject
Come on, share. I might enjoy the next track. You never know.
no subject
It's rather embarassing.
3
Oh pish posh. I thought that was jolly brave of you! A beautiful example of protective instincts at work! Just let them be free, my man!
[The mouthless face then turns at you, with the whole set of rather worrying-looking medical tools in tow]
Now, let's see if we can't do something about those wounds, shall we?
Re: 3
[But a single glance taken at all the medical instruments.]
W... wait a second! Whose body you think you're sticking those into?
no subject
Though, if you are interested, I have deen developing subcutaneous chitin-collagen coverings. Merely a little operation or two and your susceptibility to such lacerations upon your gentlemanly frame shall be rather diminished!
And I'm fairly certain they should be compatible with about ninety percent of humans.

[Erik begins trying to gently push his restless patient back into bed. He's not exactly very strong, though]
Now, just relax. By the time this is over you'll find yourself entirely capable of leaving this bed! Now, do you wish for some anaesthetic while I sew the wounds or will the gentleman prefer me to work au naturel? I have read that many of your cultures find something fascinating about this sensation of pain.
no subject
Wait, no! I'm not letting you do anything to me while I'm unconscious, that'd be even worse!
no subject
I merely have been asked by the commander of Unity to make certain I ask patients in exceedingly specific detail before any procedure at all. How was I to know that the gentleman's expressed desire to fly was purely rethorical, when wings are such a simple matter?
[Erik chatters happily. It would be relaxing if he was talking about anything else, really. He steps back a bit and takes a hand to his mechanical chest at the second part, though]
I am genuinely hurt by your distrust, sir. [And he actually does sound rather hurt] I am a man of science! You are entirely safe here!
I will simply perform local anaesthesia on the affected areas so you can observe what I do, then?
no subject
Listen, I just... don't have good experience with doctors, okay? Mechanical ones or not.
no subject
Fret not, however! For you are no longer under care of petty doctors, but in the hands of a surgeon supreme!
[And with that, Erik begins to work, applying anaesthesia to the affected areas and getting to work with the needle and thread. You might be regretting your choice about now, Danny - feeling the numb flesh pushed around and seeing your own wounds being sewn closed is the definition of unpleasant. Painless, though.]
no subject
[Not looking at the wound. Not because it hurts, it doesn't. Danny is just bad with this stuff.]
2
What...just happened?
You are...?
[While this happens, the hostile mobile suit is already in the middle of recovering from the tackle...!]
no subject
[The creature will not let the upper hand advantage slip. As soon as the mobile suit stands back up, it gets a huge fist to the face! The blue monster may be smaller but it's really strong too.]
no subject
Wait...I can help too!
no subject
D... don't die!
[The blue beast is on the defensive now, nimbly evading and ducking the beam blade but having no opportunities to hit back. No surprise there, a direct hit means all over.]
no subject
RB...please answer...
[She stretches out her hand towards the enemy, as if trying to reach for it...]
Craft Ignite - Partial! Code: Rebellion!
[It happens in a very short span of time: a giant white fist, about a quarter of the size of the enemy suit, suddenly emerges from a magic circle made of red energy, striking the enemy in its side like a battering ram!
Seeing this, Seta calls out to her ally - the blue humanoid beast.]
Now!
no subject
[Suddenly, winged monster in the mobile suit's face! It grabs those beam saber wielding hands, and then uses the grip as leverage and kicks the mecha's torso with both of its legs.
End result is that the mobile suit crashes into nearby rubble, but its arms remain in custody of the 6 meter tall thing.]
I didn't expect that. But it helped, a lot. Thanks.
no subject
I'm glad no one was looking this way...
no subject
[The creature looks around the battlefield. The situation is under control now.]
I'll be going!
no subject
[Not that she's doing anything to stop you, creature person.]
no subject
[Can a big monster look awkward? Because this one does.]
no subject
...Well...
Who are you...? Where did you come from...?
no subject
[Makes what is supposed to be a cool pose.]
no subject
...In that case, I'd like you to meet some of my colleagues. I'm sure they'd love to meet another hero.
[This time, she sounds like she means it and is trying to approach you.]
no subject
no subject
[Who's she to stop you after all.]
In that case...goodbye.
4
[MEANWHILE IN THE HANGAR.]
[The massive, plant-beast that was Volya's partner and mecha was currently... playing with a forklift like it was a toy car, much to the consternation of the tech crews.]
[BACK TO THE CONVERSATION.]
I tried to tell him to put leave it alone, but he'd just start whining at me like a giant dog and-....
Wait...
[Danny, Volya is going to have a look of abject horror as he points out a label that marked the book as something kids should NOT be exposed to.]
I... oh crap- ick- I'm sorry! I'LL BE LEAVING NOW!
[AND ABOUT FACE!]
no subject
[Danny looks at the book's cover.]
H... hold it! It's nothing like that!
no subject
[Seriously Danny, you must have some horrid luck to grab one of those books at random when listening to music at a high volume.]
no subject
Besides, I am an adult so I can read it!
[Desperate explanation mode, turned on.]
no subject
I... nevermind... I'm... just going to leave now...
[Awkward. So very awkward.]
no subject
[Damn, being judged by a kid like that. It hurts.]
