SRWU Application

[As you enter the hanger for the new TSF units you notice a young Japanese-American in black short sleeve shirt and light grey pants talking with a taller blonde dressed as a mechanic. The two seem to be old friends by the discussion but as you draw closer the conversation ends and the shorter man turns with a crisp salute while the Mechanic just sighs and turns back to the unit]
2nd Lt. Yuuya Bridges reporting as part of the UN TSF attachment to Unity Group.

[The battlefield is rapidly turning towards chaos. New Laser class re-enforcements have brought the evacuation to a halt until air transport can be made safe again and the crush of BETA let by Destroyer class is beginning to push the front lines back]
This is Argos-1 to command, requesting permission for Argos Flight to break from our assigned guard position and move to counter the laser class threat.
[Yuuya immediately diverts attention to the Laser warning on his HUD and watches as a panicked pilot who took off early is blasted from the air. Tightening his grip on his control sticks he fights the urge to run off before orders are issued]
[3]

[As Yuuya walks across the base after the debrief from his last test run for the Shiranui Second he notices footsteps approaching him and turns his head to glance over his shoulder good cheer evident on his face.]
Unusual time for you to be out here, I figured everyone would be at the cafeteria eating. I'm on my way there now from a test flight debrief if you'd care to join me.

Ellen Aice, nice to meet you.
Re: 1
Are you here for a similar purpose or are you deployed as part of a standard unit?

[She does peak her head around Yuuya to get a better look at the XJF-01.]
So that's the Shiranui Second eh.

Not everyone can get to play with the newest toys. Don't worry I'll make sure it's fully tested by the time it goes to production. Any test pilot worth a damn is going to make certain that the unit is as good as it can be. I don't want anyone dying in a unit that I tested. [He shrugs and looks back to the machine with the hints of a wistful smile tugging at his face. Realizing that the other pilot was looking at him he quickly regains control of his face before continuing].
Well if you're here with the rank and file I guess it'd be the F-15 Eagle unless you're on special assignment for the UN.
no subject
They didn't bother to send my Eagle with me so I'm stuck borrowing a Shiranui for now.
no subject
I'm sure you've had a hard time adjusting to the new machine. It's completely different style of control and the Shiranui's a lot more touchy when it comes to maneuvering.

There's no time to wait for a response, Argos-1!
You have to move now! I'll provide as much assistance as I can!
[In the meantime, the Temjin sprints along the ground, leaving trails of energy behind, because staying still with all those Tank and Soldier classes on the floor is a bad idea. Fortunately, the Virtuaroid is agile enough to sidestep a pair of charging Destroyers and slash into their backs with the Sleipner!]
Re: 2
[With that the flight bursts in to motion cannons blazing as they pass between the fallen Destroyer class and begin to cut a path through the Grappler class BETA that made up the second wave of that push. As they begin to approach the ridge line the tan head and upper body of a Fort Class come in to view.]
Argos flight break left and try to keep the ridge between us and that fort class as long as you can. Command it appears we have another wave coming in and this time they're bringing the big ones. [As the proximity warning blares Yuuya activates his thrusters and spins his unit slamming his shield into a grappler class that wasn't quite dead and allowing the reactive armor sections to finish the job before continuing] We'll have the Laser class down in 60 seconds so get the next flights and any air support we have left ready.

[Meanwhile, the pilot of this Temjin is obviously not being very formal or following standard protocol when it comes to communication and BETA engagements - the latter because her unit works VERY differently from TSFs. So she can't do what they do, but there are things she can, and to demonstrate that difference...]
Argos Flight, I know this sounds stupid, but I'll try distracting one of those Forts for you. Just get those lasers down so we can turn this battle around already!
[The Temjin's sword/rifle transforms...into a flat, gigantic blade. The Virtuaroid itself hops on this blade like a surfboard that is covered in energy similar to a beam saber's, before cruising on through the BETA ocean in the direction of one of the Fort class. It flies low enough so that the Lasers don't get to it, and the surfboard-sword's energy layer allows it to cut through the swarm like a hot knife through butter! The Fort class on the other hand, will be tougher.
Either way, get on with your job, Yuuya and gang!]

Argos flight group up for boost jump in 10 seconds. We'll sweep the ridge with canister shot and then form a skirmish line to clean up before dropping back to engage the horde once more.
[Each unit aims it's 120mm cannons and fires the canister shot before leaping for the top of the ridge. Yuuya boosts into the lead and takes a laser blast with his shield as Tarisa turns and sweeps it with 36mm cannon fire. Dropping the ruined shield he draws his Type-94 blade and charges into a particularly thick concentration of laser class. As the team clears the ridge and drops to begin engaging the next wave of Destroyer class BETA Yuuya takes to the comm once more.]
Command the ridge is clear, get the transports airborne now and send in the support. Argos flight is engaging targets of opportunity while we return for resupply.

They weren't kidding when they said they'd be quick!
Now then...
[Unfortunately, that Fort-class in her way isn't letting her retreat that easily. She's lucky that this one isn't carrying more troublesome strains inside it, but just in case, the Temjin hurls a spiky ball-like object in the large BETA's direction, which creates a sizable blue explosion that spreads slowly like a sphere, and also serves to clear the surrounding, smaller strains away. This aggravates the Fort class, and it notes that its tiny target is within range...of that gigantic 15 Mohs, acid-spitting stinger!
How does the Temjin deal with a red spike of doom launching at it? Why, by running its surfboard-slash-sword straight into it of course! After performing the equivalent of a power-slide so that the Sleipner's side makes contact first, the giant, energy-coated blade and the Fort-class' stinger meet in a midair clash. What happens next occurs in miliseconds: the Temjin spins as it leaps off its weapon, grabs the handle to add a swinging force, and, after some resistance due to how freaking tough that stinger is, slices through it - along with a portion of the Fort class' tail!
Right afterwards, the Temjin's feet land on the surfboard-sword again, resuming its original path (minding those ten giant legs in the process) and passing the Fort class by. No sense in continuing with this if the airspace is clear. The objective is complete, for now.]
Command, this is Ghost 7. I'm returning now as well. Get support to mop 'em up for us.
And Argos Flight, not bad at all for a test team!
no subject
Well they won't let just anyone play with the newest toys now, have to get someone who'll really put them through their paces or the front lines will just get crowded with junk. [He pauses to deal with a particularly aggressive group of Grappler class before continuing.]
Maybe if you're around the base sometime for a training exercise we can do a bit of mock combat so you can get a full appreciation for what a TSF can do there "Malibu". [The last carries a hint of a grin as a Yuuya adds on one of his nicknames for the pilot]
no subject
[And she's not even ashamed of giving him that name.]
For now, let's get on back and resupply. The sooner we finish this one, the sooner we'll get the time to do just that!
no subject
[With that Yuuya turns his thrusters on full blast and begins to skate across the ground at high speed to return to the resupply point behind the front lines.]
What do you say about last one there buying the first round back at base?
