Welcome to the Jade Dragon! Nothing can help you put aside the trouble of the world like a nice, hot, calming cup of tea. We just got a shipment of Darjeeling tea. I had a chance to try some earlier and I can assure you it is exquisite.

You look like you're about to break someone in half. Why don't you take a minute to cool your head before you do something you will regret?

[That one sided fight you were winning just got interrupted by the weird old man from the tea house who just shot a blast of fire from his fist to separate you from your chosen prey. He looks barely recognizable as the same man.]

There's still time to settle this without fighting, you know. I'm not fond of violence, but if you keep insisting on making a fight of this then I will end it.

I agree. Unfortunately, I rarely have the time to make such tea myself, but at least I won't lose my appreciation for it that way.

So you're a fellow enthusiast? That's wonderful! There are so few of them in this town.

I am. I must confess that my palate is more accustomed to black tea, but there is no tea I won't try at least once. I'm also a collector of tea cups.

[The teakettle starts to whistle just as he's got the strainer set up. He's good at this. Iroh pours the tea and lets it steep for a minute.]

They're the only kind of tea that seems unfamiliar to me. I must not have been from a land where such teas are commonplace.

But variety is the spice of life right? I'm always in the mood to try something new.

I've certainly not tasted anything like it in other establishments around town. I should come by here more often.

Are you sure I can't dissuade you? I've found that are problems are frequently not quite as bad as they seem. We just need to take a step back.

Don't be a fool. If you keep fighting in your condition, you could seriously hurt yourself.

No offense, friend, but have you not much less youth and vitality than moi? I would be far too negligent as a noble to allow you to risk your safety on my account. We demons are known for our sturdiness.

I may not be quite as energetic as I was in my youth, but I've still got some fire in me yet.

He'd only been walking by, but... that tea does smell heavenly. He has things to do, he's certain... and yet chasing anemoi gets frustrating and tiring and he's no closer to his goal than he was a week ago. So the scent of tea lures Shen in.

"Maybe just for a moment..." he murmurs.

[tea_bending]

"You have the look of a man...peacock who has been working for far too long with far too little reward. Some soothing tea will do you good."

[nomen_est_numen]

"Perhaps it will. Do I even like tea? I can't remember." He shakes his head. "Ah, well, this is the only way to find out." Shen finds someplace to sit and does so with a barely audible sigh. He flexes his feet for a moment, regarding them thoughtfully. Absolutely everything is a mystery when you're a complete amnesiac, after all. "I'll have..." here, he stops, once again befuddled. "...have whatever you'd recommend. Yes. Please bring me what you feel is your best."

Bla bla bla, bird.

"Hmm, if I had to guess, I think I'd peg you as a rain flower tea fan. One moment."

One minute later, Shen has a nice cup of green tea.

I googled it and I want some, now... o_o

A very nice cup of green tea. He breathes in the scent, little puffs of steam wafting around his beak. Closing his eyes, he takes a small, cautious sip.

"This is..." another sip. His eyes flicker open. "...this is perfect...."

Oh, that's one happy birdie. He closes his eyes again.

I chose it randomly from a list of varieties of green tea

"I have always felt that rain flower tea is good for a soul in turmoil. Do you perhaps have something weighing on your mind?"

"It is... quite soothing," Shen admits. He quietly drinks more of it before setting the cup down with a soft sigh.

"I know that I am not alone in not knowing who I am... but I've gotten no-where so far in finding out. Chasing after these anemoi things, throwing myself all over the city in a vain attempt to jog my memory... nothing seems to be working. It's made me... tired. Very tired."

I didn't know tea was a big enough deal that you could have a whole shop for it.

[He enters it, a bit cautiously, looking all around as though he's expecting something strange to pop out any moment and hit him with a tea bag.]

A big enough deal!? Tea is more than just a drink, my young friend. It is a way of life!
