Possibly future character for Imperial Saga

[Maybe there's dangerous things at it's end, maybe you're just short on cash and want to mug someone. Whatever the reason, you aren't letting travelers continue down this road. Travelers like this guy.]

[There was a huge fight. One during which Pepper accounted for half the enemies slain in a huge, terrifying flurry of violence. It really seems like that took a lot out of him, though. He's bleeding from several nasty looking wounds, dripping with sweat, and looking noticeably more gaunt. Also if you get close to him you can feel that he's shedding a huge amount of body heat.]

You got anything to eat?

[You're in a fort that is under siege with Pepper, and there hasn't been a lot to do. As the days drag on, Pepper's been getting more impatient and antsy. Finally, this night, it's reached the breaking point, and he's sitting at a table coiling some rope and preparing a wide variety of weapons.]

The hell with this. They're gonna have nightmares about the time they trapped me in this tiny box.

[Pepper looks down his nose at the boy.]

They sent you?

Put the sword down, kid. Trust me, you don't want to do this.

After extending his arms arm as if to block the path, Link tries to give Peps a serious face.

"There's a reason why they sent me Mister."

[your_gods_nightmare]

"Probably because they wanted you AWAY from the action."

Pepper attempts a disarm on Link that ideally would end up with him holding the Master Sword. He's freakishly fast.

"Whooaa!" Link was a heroic boy but he was still inexperienced, and could still get toppled. Before he could make a move, his delicate sword was taken from him. His hand was for a moment empty, but Link pulled out a wedge-shaped tool from behind and threw it. A flying boomerang for a counter-disarm.

"That doesn't belong to you."

Time to leave. I'll just leave them a few souvenirs while I'm on my way out.

[He finishes cleaning a shotgun, then takes a moment to lean back.]

Phew, I don't know. As big as I can make it. I figure it might give the rest of you a chance to actually escape if I kill off a few generals or something, throw them into confusion.

[Apparently he's not bringing anyone with him.]
