[Gohan is sitting in the High School library, reading books, obviously studying for a test, though he sometimes glances up to see if someone comes.]
Huh, I wonder what happened. They were supposed to be here a few minutes ago.
[He looked slightly annoyed, but he had little better to do this afternoon. As it had been relatively quiet.]
[Sigh] I guess I'll just wait a few more minutes.

I'd rather be in Misaki city, even if the teachers there were just as useless.

[He smirks.]
You sound like one of my real dad's friends. He always thought he was the best. I don't know about it, in something like this. After all, you've got people like Booster Gold here, and some of the more powerful people. It can make you feel insignificant, you know?
[He smirks a little bit and looks at Shana]
I mean, look at that new guy who just showed up. What was his name, the Great Saiyaman? He's pretty awesome, and his costume is cool looking, don't you think so?

[ She gives Gohan an amused look. ]
I don't know, I think his costume is actually pretty lame. It's nice that he fights to be a hero of justice and all, but that's not really my job. I maintain the balance.

When I was a kid, Shana, I had to fight someone called Cell, the ultimate fighter. He was a cyborg from the future, who was made using the cells from my father, and several of his enemies and allies. He was a monster, and easily destroyed almost everyone he came across, even the greatest fighters in the world at that time.
[He pauses a moment, then looks down]
He killed my dad, but not before he trained me so that I'd be able to fight on that monster's level. I ended up killing the ultimate fighter, though dedication, training, and a reason to fight. And it was a hell of a fight, probably one of the best that I've ever been in. Those days are behind me now, though I kind of miss it. Only a little, though.
[He blinks and then looks up at Shana]
What I'm trying to say is that a title doesn't mean anything, and there's always someone stronger. If you don't think of things like that, it could be really bad, and I don't want to see you hurt. I've lost too many friends that way.
[He looks hurt as Shana tells him the costume was lame]
What? Lame! That costume is the coolest thing in the world, what with the helmet and the cape! What makes it lame?
[He crosses his arms and looks down, almost in a pout]

Because it looks like something your mom made, Gohan.

Looks like my mom made it! She didn't make it, it was Aun...
[He gets a horrified look of realization on his face, and the color drains from it.]
I, uh, I mean it doesn't look like someone's mom made it. It looks like it was exquisitely designed to the utmost standards of keeping one's identity...
[A pause.]
It doesn't look any sillier than Booster Gold's costume, anyway! Or that Spiderman or Iron Man guy. Well, actually their costumes look really cool, but...
[Another pause, then Gohan drops his head with a dejected sigh.]
You're not buying this in the slightest, are you? What tipped you off?

[ Shana points at him and grins. ]
I knew it! And you're the lamest hero of all.
Well... [ Shana shrugs. ]
Most people don't notice me when I watch them, because I'm so small. That's how I caught you.

It's *not* a lame costume. It's a *symbol*. When I wear the costume, I'm doing it so that I can fight bad people while keeping my identity secret. I'm not doing it for fame or glory, but because it's the right thing to do.
[He takes a breath, and then seems to calm down a bit.]
The second that it becomes about glory, or because it's too much fun to just lose myself in the fighting, I'm done. I love to fight, but I don't like it. I just want to be a normal teenager, but I can't ignore my abilities or strength, because that would be a waste. Plus, I don't like seeing others hurt. [A shrug.] Guess that might make me weird, but that's just the way I see it.
[There's a pause as she mentions that people don't notice her.]
Well, I'm sorry about that. I guess I should pay better attention. I should have learned that from Krillin a long time ago.
