[1] [Standard Combat Prompt]
[Its an all out battle on the border between North and South Cho-Son, and things have just taken a turn for the worse. The massive but poor quality army of mechanized ground forces of the north and the relatively small army of variable air-ground combat mecha of the south which had been already clashing soon found themselves knee deep in what looked to be nightmarish mechanical versions of various forms of sea life. However despite the appearance of such beasts, the North Cho-Son forces refuse to relent their attack on the South, as well as all forces they deem as 'interfering outsiders'. All except one that is. In fact it also happened to be the only one that lasted more than five minutes and was not going out of its way to make the battle an even larger mess, choosing to focus more on the inhuman enemies.]
This is getting frustrating...
[The pilot lets out several shots at a beast that attempted to take a bite out of it - a majority of the shots didn't do anything but one of them somehow managed to jam the beast's jaw before she chucked several grenades in and kicked it away.]
I know you don't owe me anything considering the fact that the fools holding my leash are out to kill you as well, but if anything I don't suppose you mind lending me a hand so we can get rid of these... things faster?
[2] [Not so standard interaction post]
[The Greater Citizenry's Heavenly Republic of Cho-Son (aka North Cho-Son) has in its great and resplendent benevolence allowed you inferior outsiders to enter its hallowed territory despite your ineptitude, unworthiness and general filth covered foreign-ness. Its a dump. Everything here looks so horrifically out of date, what cars are present are more suited to the early forties and those themselves are a rarity! Most people have to make do with carts, or bicycles! Electricity is restricted to government buildings, the privileged - who themselves are shockingly behind the times as well, industry and military as well as the lucky few the Grand High Prime Minister for Life Jun Kang-Jo had decided to benevolently grant in his almighty and heavenly kindness.]
"We've arrived."
[But that was a matter for another time. You soon find yourself escorted to the Republic's most maximum security military prison, where their most lethal soldier rests. Your guide leads you to the security booth beside the massive cell where she sits. You can see what appears to be a security panel with several dials and monitors linked to several cameras right in front of her cell. Which honestly is kind of superfluous since a guard can simply just look to his left and keep an eye on her rather than the black and white seventies radiotron-esque tv screens on the security station - which itself lies empty. Your guide turns to regard you, back to the station and not at all looking at the chained, strait-jacketed, chained, cuffed, chained, secured and thoroughly chained young woman in the positively spartan cell - decorated by the Flag of the Heavenly Republic and large glossies and portaits of Jun Kang-Jo himself.]

"This is the most secure cell in the Republic, completely inescapable and designed by the greatest prison architects in Cho-Son. Normally such a valued person would be given more comfortable lodgings, such skill would even earn immense benefits like electricity and a private plumbing system! However, Miss Xue Yi is something of a free spirit and often her actions are troubling to the Grand High Prime Minister for Life. However we do not enjoy imprisoning her like this... and hope that she can accept the Grand High Prime Minister for Life's leadership and the way of life of the Republic. As such several of our scholars and artisans visit her to enlighten-"
[The guide's long winded explanation drones on. However something catches your eyes on the screen behind him. The woman in the cell? Xue Yi he called her? Was calmly pulling herself out of the myriad chains, cuffs and bonds, calmly worked her way out of the strait jacket and calmly opened the cell door - taking with her a few of the glossies and the large flag. Then she walked into the security room, her path - being behind the ever rambling guide and into the bathroom not too far away. After a few moments the sound of flushing water could be heard as she exited, drying her hands on one sole picture before crumpling it up and tossing it behind her and returning to her cell - calmly getting back into the complete mess that she was placed in the cell with when you walked in.]
"-and thus the Greater Citizenry's Heavenly Republic of Cho-Son was formed and we hope to bring our enlightened lifestyle to all the ignorant peoples of the world. If you have any questions I will be waiting here, you may go inside to speak with Miss Xue Yi, but I must warn you, we have armed guards all around this building if you intend any mischief."
[He inclines his head and allows you into the room where the cell was before closing the door after you.]
[....Soooo.... What do you say to her?]
[3] [Standard interaction prompt]
[After a few hours of shenanigans, Xue Yi managed to find her way out of her jail cell and is now hanging out with you at one of the few places in North Cho-Son that wasn't decorated with the face or a statue of Jun Kang-Jo. Its an abandoned construction project. One people were pointedly ignoring - making it the perfect place to hide really.]
Its interesting isn't it? One of the few places untouched by the ego and stupidity of their leader and it's the most barren. I can't call it an improvement... but I can't say its any worse.
[She lets out a derisive noise and shakes her head.]
So... let's talk then. Why did you come to a country filled with Nationalistic Maniacs, Pride-Blinded Fools and a leader who is both as well as a tremendous imbecile?

Guh! I can't thand these thupuid things! They break tho easily!
[[The voice belongs to that of a child but their bravado doesn't belong to that of South Cho-Son at all. They'd never fly in and PUNCH a monster like that.]]
Yer the only one thath makin any senth from the North, lady!

Chelsea?
[There was a tone of incredulousness that only lasted for a moment before the PBSEN pulled aside and tossed a few more grenades into the fight.]
... I see you got pulled into this as well. Somehow I shouldn't be that surprised.

Thumeone I can work wiff! Good!
[[However she's done with that gun and has to just throw it before backing up and unloading missiles at dangerously close range.]]
How did you get here? And how come you're using that thupid thing? What happen to the robot you had before?
[[Same could be asked of her. Surely there's a lot of questions; ones only they can ask while dealing with two sides of the idiot coin.]]

[High impact bullets fly through the air. One of them shoots a monster straight in the head, causing a bloody spray. If only the rest were so accurate...]
Why does your side keep fighting? Even with those... things around!

[The statement was mentioned as calmly as someone talking about the weather.]
They're blinded by the pride of their nation that their leaders indoctrinate them with. They do what they think is their right and that right is to defeat everything that isn't them unless they are told otherwise.
[Xue Yi's shots were less effective - and slightly more accurate - if that was saying much considering the poor make of her weapon.]
Even when faced with an inhuman enemy... no that's a mistake. To anyone who doesn't accept the leadership of their Prime Minister, they consider them inhuman.

[Virgola kicks off its hiding place - sniping the creatures won't do much good, Setsuko needs to get closer. Easy to say though when units from North Cho-Son stand in her way and are ready to fight. Maybe some people are aces who can afford to maneuver past them and evade their gunfire.
Setsuko isn't one of them. The Gunnery Carver manifests a long physical blade.]
Get out of Virgola's way!
[She slashes, not letting them attack first.]

Well. I was solemnly sworn to make sure you were eating properly - [her eyes flicker to whatever's left of the last meal delivered to the cell, whenever that may have been] - and dressing warmly - [she gives the straightjacket a quick once-over] - and keeping out of trouble. [At this last part she doesn't bother trying to indicate the whole environment with her eyes.] So I guess I'll be spending the trip back making up a complete fabrication to keep your aunts from worrying, again, not that I didn't expect that.
And I thought you'd grown out of keeping posters of your crushes on the walls?
Well. [The visitor has a small satchel with her, through which she rummages.] I figured booze and cigs would be traditional, so here you go. Liz wanted me to bake a file in to a cake, but I didn't want to push it. She says hi, by the way. Had to stay back with the shuttle, and bandwidth isn't great here. [As if saying so has somehow reminded her, she takes off the small pair of red-rimmed glasses she wears, folding them into her neckline.]
Mom made cookies, though. Chocolate chip.
[Cathy holds them out. Something in her smile suggests she's fully conscious that she's doing so only after Xue Yi took the trouble to get back into all the restraints.]

I did. I didn't choose the decor... you might want to give me a minute though...
[She grunts softly as she once more escaped from her bonds with the ease of practice. It wasn't THAT hard, just annoying as hell given the amount of time it took.]
Mother could probably leave these faster... but I prefer to let them have a false sense of security rather than simply shattering the chains. It makes things easier sometimes.
no subject
[Cathy's smile wanes a bit. Seems the situation is disheartening enough to outweigh the fun of messing with her cousin.]
There's got to be a better way to deal with things here than putting yourself through... all this.

"It would be my true pleasure, Xue Yi. I do have a long-standing debt to repay, quiaff?"
That bird-legged mech zooms forward on exhaust jets and starts laying into the invaders from the deep with a volley of green lasers.

[Xue Yi says nothing further but proceeds to skate full speed into a Deep Beast and smash her gun into an eye-socket and send bullets ricocheting around its head cavity!]
[Matthew would REALLY note that he was doing far more effectively than any of the North Cho-Son machines ever could. Clearly Xue Yi was able to fight this long through sheer stubbornness.]
no subject
"What the the world prompted you to pilot that pile of junk for this slag heap of a nation?" Matthew finally blurts out, driving a radiator blade into the mechanical throat of one of the beasts.

...Certainly. Such hostility is something I'm rather accustomed to by now.
So this is what they mean by 'blind hate', right? These guys are so into it, it's like they don't even realize these things are here!
[In the meantime, the Granzon draws its sword from a wormhole formed nearby; neatly slicing one of the unsuspecting beasts apart as it does. Looks like being nerfed as all heck doesn't mean it still can't pack a decent punch.]

A talking bird.... not all that surprising all things considered.
[Honestly Chika has made a very good observation - both sides are concentrating more on each other than the beasts.]

[The conversation partner in this case is a blonde woman, standing deftly atop a vertically-oriented I-beam at the top of the project. She jumps off, and makes one lazy flip in the air before landing on her feet 20 meters later, no worse for the wear.]
...Not one of the government people here-a foreigner. We think he's fled here.

"Antique artillery shells." She explains. "You know, the old explosive rounds for those rifled cannons the ground-pounders used back during the old world wars? They're so out of fashion ever since mobile suits and beam rifles, so not many people still stock them. *crunch-crunch* But North Cho-San has a bunch in their armories, and they're willing to sell 'em cheap!"
She looks around from left to right.
"Hot Damn, this place is a shithole."

[Xue Yi has a wry smile on her face.]
And I'm surprised that they're willing to sell to people they consider outsiders. I assume you managed to find some way to fool them?
