An Enemy Boss Unit's Testrun
1.[Outside. Twilight. The streetlights are just beginning to flicker on, and as you walk around you can hear the sound of a harmonica gently wafting through the air. If you follow the sound long enough, eventually you'll find its source-a woman, standing atop a streetlight like it's the most normal thing in the world, playing away. She is wearing sunglasses.]
2. [As the team comes under attack from a bunch of mysterious knightly robots, you're the guy (or girl) who gets separated from the rest of the group. And instead of a giant super robot, or someone in fancy powered armor, you're up against...a woman in a suit.]

Well. Looks like you stepped out of the frying pan and into the fire. Guess I can't just sit this one out, huh...
3. [As your team is under assault from aliens, demons, or some other form of horrible unreasonable monster, who should show up but the invincible super robot, Maverick Firestorm! Beloved hero of children, world-saving superhero, and star of thousands of cheap knockoff action figures! Though he's missing his partner, the blue Tsunami Desperado. And the voice it speaks with over the comms is familiar.]

Yo. Heard you might need some help.
4.[Still later, after having fought her once or twice, you might stumble across Sarah in the weirdest of all places-a public park, where she's playing with a small blonde boy.]

Oh. Hey.

Oh. Hey.

[Wait, what? He's walking straight towards Sarah.]
I cannot afford to be held up here.
no subject
And I'm supposed to hold you up.
no subject
[Shu however is not stopping.]
Resort to force, and you might stand a chance at accomplishing that.
no subject
[She just puts a hand on Shu's shoulder to hold him back.]
I can rip a tank apart with my bare hands. Don't make me fight you.
1/2
[The Professor goes silent for a few seconds, but he shakes his head after.]
As I've said...I have no intention of fighting you.
2/2
[And at that, he simply steps to the side and walks past. You can try to follow him, Sarah, but chances are even your superhuman self might find it very difficult to move now.]
Shadow Bind. A useful bit of La Gias sorcery.
I had to gamble on the possibility that you would make physical contact with me to trigger it, but it seems that it paid off.
no subject
[Sarah tries to move to stop him; tries being the operative word, as that pesky spell's going to stop her.]
...Hey, what the...
[More slight twitches as she tries to get moving.]
...Goddamn wizard bullshit!
no subject
Well then...
[Shu proceeds to flee the scene! A lot faster than any normal scholar would!]
no subject
[More straining. She's not able to move more than a little bit, even with her ridiculous physical strength. So she takes a deep breath, focuses, and then several things happen very fast as her power is unleashed. Her jacket, the closest flammable thing, catches fire and is almost instantly turned to ash. The windows on nearby cars crack. The asphalt melts. And with a mighty push, she's able to take a step forward, ripping free of the spell.
Shu can probably notice the heat. He can definitely notice the sound of Sarah running after him.]
no subject
To break out of that so quickly...that woman is...
[Meanwhile, up above, a tiny bluebird carrying a small talisman quickly approaches the scene!]
This is why all good sorcerers come with good familiars! Kukuku~ getting to save Master for once feels pretty good...now then!
[It starts to yell at Sarah with the most annoying tone it can muster...which isn't really all that hard because it already sounds annoying to begin with.]
Hey, hey! Brutish fire lady! Look at what I've got!
If only she had a talking cat to fight it
Kinda busy right now. Fly away, little bird.
no subject
...Your very existence shall be erased from the face of the universe!
[The little animal has changed her voice; not hard to tell that she's trying her best to mimic Shu as she suddenly swoops in between the two, touching the ground briefly like small birds usually do.]
Degenerative Talis...fire!
[Well, it's more like she just drops the thing and gives it a brief tap with one of her claws, really. What's strange though is that the talisman suddenly glows. A blinding white light and overwhelming noise blanket the surrounding block!]
no subject
[Sarah puts an arm up in front of her eyes and leaps away from the talisman. Scared? No. Reasonably cautious of something that is probably meant to blind her? Yes.]
no subject
Once the light fades away, the Professor and his familiar are standing on the palm of a very large red hand- one that belongs to a bulky, blue robot that is floating in the air without generating any noise.]
You called me a wizard, did you not? What kind of wizard would I be if I depended solely on one trick?
You're just saying that to sound cool, even though the truth is that you're running like a chicken and I had to save your butt.
Chika...
[One stern look later, and the bird falls silent. Shu then directs his gaze back at Sarah.]
In any event, I advise you to come with us to see the boy in person. So that you may make your own judgement before you try to slay him.
no subject
[She draws a pentagram in the air quickly, muttering something under her breath! A pillar of flame erupts from the ground, and it soon clears-revealing a heroic, 18 meter red super robot, staring Shu down. Or up, as the case may be.]
I get you wanting to protect the kid, really I do, but...I'm not going to let you stop this.
no subject
[Shu observes the summoning with interest. If he actually had his memories, maybe he'd recognize that robot. Either way...]
Unfortunately, the decision of stopping this now lies entirely with me.
I will keep my word and avoid fighting you here; but the next time we meet, I will not show any mercy.
[It only takes an instant for the Granzon to disappear via a wormhole, which closes with a sound not too different from thunder.]
no subject
...Well, gave it my best shot. Percy can deal with the rest...
[She sits down on a bench.]
...I'm gonna get lectured pretty hard, though...
