An Enemy Boss Unit's Testrun

1.[Outside. Twilight. The streetlights are just beginning to flicker on, and as you walk around you can hear the sound of a harmonica gently wafting through the air. If you follow the sound long enough, eventually you'll find its source-a woman, standing atop a streetlight like it's the most normal thing in the world, playing away. She is wearing sunglasses.]

2. [As the team comes under attack from a bunch of mysterious knightly robots, you're the guy (or girl) who gets separated from the rest of the group. And instead of a giant super robot, or someone in fancy powered armor, you're up against...a woman in a suit.]



Well. Looks like you stepped out of the frying pan and into the fire. Guess I can't just sit this one out, huh...

3. [As your team is under assault from aliens, demons, or some other form of horrible unreasonable monster, who should show up but the invincible super robot, Maverick Firestorm! Beloved hero of children, world-saving superhero, and star of thousands of cheap knockoff action figures! Though he's missing his partner, the blue Tsunami Desperado. And the voice it speaks with over the comms is familiar.]



Yo. Heard you might need some help.


4.[Still later, after having fought her once or twice, you might stumble across Sarah in the weirdest of all places-a public park, where she's playing with a small blonde boy.]

[Mizuki's not summoned her own machine yet though, what with the confusion and being cut off. But the mystery woman's got her on edge though.]

I can handle the Sun itself. A little fire's nothing compared to that.

[She takes off her jacket and hangs it on a nearby fencepost.]

Anyways. If you're willin' to sit this one out, I will too. 'Course, somethin' tells me that's unlikely, what with how my friends are gonna kill one o' yours and all, buuuut...whadda you say?

I'm not much of one for fighting, believe it or not.

[Mizuki begins to crack her knuckles. She doesn't have anything to hang off to the side, but her clothing's roomy enough for her to fight in. There's hatred in her eyes, oh yes indeed.]

Now get out of the way.

And I'm afraid I can't do that.

[She starts walking forwards...]

Are you another superhuman? I don't want to kill you on accident.

W-wait aren't you gonna summon your machine or transform or something?

Not even human to begin with.

[A shift of her feet was all it took for Mizuki to charge forward, the Abyssian's fist snapping out as if it were a whip at Sarah.]

Never actually needed the transforming thing. I mean, you see it in cartoons all the time, but it turns out some powers just don't care about whether you're wearing a frilly dress or not.

[She hangs her jacket up on a fencepost, and then dashes at Theo's weird dragon robot, her hands glowing bright red. The Evening Star versus the Beast of Scripture. Gundam fight...Ready! Go!]

This is silly!

[The Beast of Scripture responds by...running away as quickly as he can.]

I mean it's not even a fair fight, you're just a person on foot!

[Sarah parries the fist with one hand, and strikes with her other elbow. The blow is strong enough to knock Mizuki backwards, sending her crashing into an innocent car.]

I know, there should be three of you to make it even.

[She's more than able to keep pace with the giant robot by just running after it.]

[It's not a clean hit, but Sarah's elbow still smashes against Mizuki's other hand as she tries to raise it in time to guard herself. She's sent hurtling backwards, and that car's owner better have Mecha Series Insurance judging by the damage.

[Mizuki though? Well she's seen better days, but she's still standing up.]

As I said before, I'm not human.

[And that poor car's going to go through even worse as Mizuki tears a piece of scrap out of it, hurling it at Sarah with all her strength before charging after it and her opponent.]

[beast_of_scripture]

I don't think that would make things even.

[Liber Legis turns and stomps the ground in front of it to create some difficult terrain to slow Sarah down.]

Doesn't necessarily mean you're stronger.

[Sarah does a dodge-roll to the side of the car door and comes up into a fighting stance. She doesn't avoid or dodge Mizuki's charge, instead opting to deliver a kick towards Mizuki's leg as she closes. The Cobra Kais would be proud.]

[It's not very effective; she's just as adept at leaping off walls and upraised chunks of road as she is at flat out running. She'll close again, but this time she leaps upwards, flips over, and delivers a powerful kick to Theo's robot's chin.]

[empress_without_a_throne]

[The kick hurts, to say the least, but as the pain shoots through Mizuki's body she's already reacting. Shift weight. Take it off her attacked leg. Let it slide back along with the momentum of Sarah's attack... and then use that shifting momentum to reinforce a punch to the old hag's face.]

[beast_of_scripture]

[That kick sends Liber Legis reeling back.]

You have to be joking, with a single kick!?

[The Red Deus Machina has to stomp it's feet into the ground hard just to keep it's footing.]

I can summon my robot if you want. But seeing as how I'm just supposed to prevent you guys from interfering, I think I'm fine.

[63rd_shockwave]

[Sarah blocks the hit with her forearm, but she doesn't look exactly happy with that whole chain of events.]

I'd bet that leg's going to break if you try walking on it. Give up. I don't want to hurt you anymore.

[Volya flinched from his place behind a tree. He kinda hid there once he spotted Sarah and hoped she didn't see him. Tough luck there.]

Hey... Uh...

I come in peace?

So maybe we can avoid the whole thing where I get chased down several blocks?

[For once, Shu is caught on-foot instead of in the Granzon.]

There is still room to negotiate.

[Of course, when all he has is his fists it's hard not to.]

I've handled worse.

[Fortunately, Mizuki's got that whole bird thing going on, and cranes are totally birds so yeah. But she's also got a second fist to work with, and opts for a feral shoulder charge into Sarah while swinging her left into the woman's side.]

[If this had taken place a while ago, Shu would just let this go without a second thought. One person's life wasn't worth risking his own over, but now...]

I do not wish to fight you. However...even if this Tapestry of yours proves to be true, I cannot simply allow you and your comrades to take his life.

Not until there is no other choice.
