[Battle Scenario! It seems the forces working against Romana have seen fit to just dump their resources into buying a bunch of worthless MP models and zerg rushing. About to be dog piled by Gespensts and the like, or at least it appears that way to Ryuichi, causes the blue dude in his dragonoid robot to jump in front and take the blunt of the attack instead]

H-hey, you're okay right?
Sorry if I'm interrupting...well not really "sorry" but-

[Whatever he was about to say is interrupted via punch to the face of his unit. He definitely bit off more than he could chew. Typical.]

[After the battle of trying to throw himself in front of his allies, despite not being built like a brick wall, Ryuichi stumbles back into the hanger, bruised up and bleeding.]

This...is kinda...deja vu...

[Aaaaand he falls over. He's not quite unconscious since he's sneering about this mess he's become, and he's regenerating sort of but it's not fast enough that it's a good idea to leave him laying there]

[Aotatsu is holding the Gespenst that punched him while it kind of continues to do so.]

You're supposed to learn that before you- OW- get on the field!

[Aotatsu eventually uppercuts its attacker away before it loses its head]

"I've taken piloting lessons! What, do you think I'm a plebe?" Dido shouts back, clearly stressed out.

With a bit of effort, she manages to take aim with a beam spray gun and fire at one of the gespensts–

–and miss.

"...I just haven't piloted this one before, is all!"

[Has gotten fed up with being punched in the face and gives a glowing upper cut, surging with a dragon made of water, smashing into the Gespenst and sending it crashing into the others still attacking Dido.]

[Whoever's fielding this many Gespensts obviously couldn't find even one qualified pilot. In an instant, a whole slew of them are torn to shreds by two boomerang-like blades, and their source... another Gespenst. At least this one has a friendly IFF code.]

Fortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

[Another Gespenst tries to move in for a Jet Magnum, but Selena's is quick to respond with a Cross Counter! The allied PT swerves and ducks under the enemy's fist, its own smashing down the mook!]

Certainly possible, but then that begs the question of why send an army to do the job of just one. Oh well, we'll just have to leave one of them alive if we want answers.

[And Selena finishes off the damaged Gespenst with a slash from its Plasma Slicer.]

Not that one though.

Knowing [villain name here]'s followers they'd probably kill themselves before telling us anything.

[He sounds kind of bummed out about that, although not enough to prevent him doing a flying knee strike into a Gespenst's face- sending it soaring into the distance. Competent fighting, yay.]

Better to just clear them out and hope we get a hint in the wreckage.

Oh don't worry about that. Getting information from people not inclined to give it is part of my job.

[The Gespenst weaves through a stream of missiles raining down on it, and Selena's next move brings out the Mega Beam rifle juuuust as another batch of the enemies bring out their own and begin to open fire.]

... Yes that's right, stay bunched up like that. And keep not knowing how to use your machines.

[The folding component of the rifle swings up and Selena returns fire... just with much, much more firepower backing her up. The laser sweeps across the group, trashing their machines one and all in one go.]

[She sets it down, and exhales - and notices Ryuuchi. More to the point, she notices Ryuuchi is bored out of his skull. She waves at him.]

I seem to have bitten off more than I could chew. Would you mind helping me take this to the mess hall?
