[Obligatory tavern post! Maybe you're passing through, or maybe you live in the town that her traveling party is visiting. Regardless, there is a little girl in front of the quest board standing on her toes so that she can see properly. She appears to be alone.]

#2

[Someone from the party has left for whatever reason, a friend of yours from the past.]

What do you think you're doing?! Aren't you going to go after him?! He could get hurt, you know!

#3

[The worst has happened. A party member has died. Rydia seemed to have been holding up all right, although she was fairly quiet the day. As the night falls and you settle into sleep, you feel something against your back, and a little whimper.

Seems like someone isn't taking it quite as well as you might have thought...]

[It's been a while since you've seen the pint-sized summoner. Maybe you've even started to wonder just what she's been up to.]

Hey!

[A somewhat familiar-looking woman waves toward you, jogging toward you just a bit. She beams.]

Wow, you really don't look any different, do you? Long time no see! How have you been?

[The Desert of Biggs lies on the border of Dwaelath and Ybeathiel. The sea winds, blocked by the Wall and other structures, bypass a streak of land scarred by ancient glaciers from east to west, that runs from the Rift to the middle of the borderlands, withholding their life-giving rain. The terrain is harsh and rocky, the winds malicious and blowing with sand, and the proximity to the Rift means that those brave or stupid enough to venture into the desert hardly ever return.

[That being said... why the HELL is this strange cloaked woman asking you to take her there?

[She leans on the tavern table, speaking softly.]

I'll make it worth your while. All you would have to do is keep us safe from the monsters; I can take care of the rest. I NEED to get to the ruins in that desert. Can you do it?

2)

[Obligatory siege post! The enemy has taken the stronghold and you--for whatever reason--were sequestered in one of the towers with Midna. As the sounds of shouting, ringing steel and bellows of pain echo up the stairs, she gets to her feet like a coiling viper, gazing at the door, the air around her chilling by a few degrees. Her hand crackles with purplish lightning.]

I really hope you know how to use that weapon of yours... We're going to need it.

3)

[The party! Are you a fellow partygoer? The host or hostess? In any case Midna, still in black robes and hood, stands out starkly in the crowd against the other women in patisserie pastels and poofy dresses. She clutches a goblet of something dark and red and chilled in one hand, and figuratively floats at the edge of the crowd, watching everyone with quiet amusement. If you approach her, however, she'll over a sidelong smile.]

"A very good party indeed, isn't it?"

[Doing something of questionable loyalty? Questionable legality? What about something plain old embarassing?]

[Take your pick! It doesn't matter, you just got your picture taken regardless.]

Tsk tsk tsk! What would your boss say if they knew about this?

[Aya's newspaper has been stirring things up in the capital! Most of note at the moment is the stuff with you in it.]

[She's hard to pin down with how much she moves around, but you've found the journalist responsible for your reputational woes! She's in a pub, surrounded by a ludicrous amount of empty glasses. Sobriety is not what is appening here.]

Oh, that? What about it? It was a good article.

You aren't suggesting I should stop reporting on the truth, are you?

-3-

[FIGHT PROMPT. There are lots of reasons someone might want to beat up Aya; she's not very popular.]

[Aya's not really thinking hard about the fight ahead - she's thinking one step past it. What does she have to gain by winning? What about losing? Victory might not be the only path to getting what she wants...]

[Then again, there's no reason not to have a bit of fun before seeing which way this is going to unfold.]

Fine! If it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you'll get.

Do you think you can keep up with my speed?

Most interesting, this crystal.

It'll be useful for keeping in touch with Lord Xykon. Or perhaps for negotiations.

I am... You know what? Just call me Redcloak. Seriously, everyone else has for decades. I DO have a name you know...

Anyways. I represent the goblin peoples of the swamplands of Karemond.

I will make this clear now: I do not like humans. Your actions against our peoples have been horrific beyond measure. However, I am not a goblin incapable of reason, and I am open to fair negotiations to produce a better state for my people, not that I expect any of you to take the offer.

*This diner is, by all definitions, very seedy. It's most famous for its horrifically bad coffee. Here is where some humans willing to go into less-reputable places - and smart enough to not say things that could get them attacked by the twenty-some customers and staff inside - might find Redcloak, pouring over a small swarm of documents from a corner booth.*

Who made this plan, seriously, it's very inefficient...

*Tight quarters in an underground cave system form the backdrop for this wing of a moderate-scale battle between a sizeable goblin force and your army. The goblins are on an entrenched defense, and behind a small team of swordsgoblins stands a cleric.*

Good idea, going for the not-at-all-secret side path that'd allow you to strike my forces in a pincer formation.

Too bad I saw it coming, really. Once I take you down, victory will be assured!
